Find a free time that suits you and come to bake!
While today we know gingerbread mainly as spicy Christmas cookies, over the centuries, making and decorating gingerbread has been considered a great art. The tradition of making gingerbread goes much further back in history than is commonly thought. The heyday of making gingerbread was in the 16th-18th centuries, and they were not only related to Christmas, but were made throughout the year for various holidays.
Why does gingerbread have to be flat and plane? The Gingerbread Mania exhibition started from this question. A little more playful thinking and a few techniques are enough to bake completely different gingerbread cookies. Baking gingerbread and the spicy sweet smell are part of every Estonians Christmas anticipation. Here you will find the main techniques to make yourself more exciting gingerbread cookies and make this Christmas even more magical.
You can buy unique gingerbreads made by artists in the cafe of the exhibition. You can be sure that these gingerbreads are something completely different. We also offer hot drinks and gingerbread to eat right away for those who have an uncontrollable desire to sink their teeth into gingerbread art. Gingerbread doughs, glazes and various gingerbreads are available. The cafe is open at the exhibition every day from December 1st to January 7th.
We invite you to see the Gingerbread Mania exhibition with the whole class and bake artistic gingerbread yourself. We will learn interesting baking and decorating tricks, learn about the history of gingerbread, visit an exhibition and solve a puzzle. Gingerbread Mania is a great opportunity to make sweet contact with the world of design and art.
