Gingerbread workshops for schools
Baking gingerbread and the sweet, spicy aroma are an essential part of waiting for Christmas. We invite your whole class to visit the PiparkoogiMaania exhibition and bake artistic gingerbreads yourselves. Together we will talk about the exhibition, explore the history of gingerbread, and solve a puzzle activity. A shared adventure in the gingerbread world – it’s something truly special!
PiparkoogiMaania is a Christmas-time gingerbread art exhibition featuring over 100 artists, designers, and architects each year. The exhibition has been running for 20 years. Gingerbread art is a wonderful way to introduce young people to art and design, while also developing their own creativity.
The workshops take place on the lower floor of the PiparkoogiMaania exhibition, in our cozy pop-up kitchen, where all the conditions are set for baking and decorating exciting gingerbreads. The workshops are open to everyone, but mornings are reserved for schools, and we offer a discounted price for classes.

With just a few new techniques and a more playful mindset, you can create gingerbreads that are completely different. The workshop is suitable for young people of all ages, as we adapt the activities to the children’s age and skill level. The finished gingerbreads will be packed for the children to take home.
Sometimes it has even happened that Santa has left Christmas presents for the whole class under our tree. Come and experience gingerbread magic in its purest form!

Prices and capacity
Number of people in the groupUp to 18 bakers can fit around our long table at one time. Therefore, we usually divide the class into two groups. One half stays to bake, while the other half explores the exhibition and completes a search game. This way, the baking is also more relaxed. We kindly ask that each class has at least two accompanying adults.
Workshop durationThe workshop lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before the workshop starts so that we can set up the kitchen properly.

Booking
To book a workshop, please select a suitable available time slot from the calendar and leave your contact details. You will receive a confirmation email immediately after booking. As only a limited number of workshops can be held before the start of the winter school holidays, it is worth booking early to secure your place.
